LEC undertakes bushfire attack level (BAL) assessments and prepares BAL reports required for building certification in designated bushfire hazard areas.
Building new or renovating existing residential buildings in a designated bushfire hazard area must comply with BAL construction requirements in Australian Standard 3959-2018 – Construction of Buildings in Bushfire Prone Areas
(AS 3959-2018).
LEC is licensed with the Fire Protection Association of Australian to use the Flamesol BAL calculator to perform the ‘method 2’ BAL assessment procedure in AS 3959-2018.
