Land management
Bushfire poses a serious threat to people, property, infrastructure and the environment. Reducing vulnerability to bushfire is a collective, whole-of-community responsibility. LEC consults to land managers in the use and development (in both urban and rural settings) of land resources in relation to bushfire hazards. LEC works with land managers, eg councils, Department of Defence, resource companies and utility providers, in regards to:
- asset protection;
- operations planning;
- bushfire management planning for land owners;
- bushfire emergency management and evacuation planning; and
- balancing asset protection and conservation management.
